The UK’s tree of the year
Over in the UK, the Woodland Trust has announced the shortlist for its annual Tree of the Year competition. There are 13 to choose from and the winner will represent the UK in the European Tree of the Year competition. Head over to the Woodland Trust’s website to see the shortlist and vote for your favourite. Voting closes on 15 October and the winner will be announced on 19 October.
The 2022 winner was a yew tree growing on the grounds of Waverley Abbey in Surrey. It is thought to be 500 years old.
