I’m Matthew, and I’m the founder of WeCoexist.Earth.

I live in Auckland, New Zealand but have been fortunate enough to live in a number of countries around the world, including the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden.

I’ve been passionate about sustainability and the environment ever since I interned at the United Nations Climate Change Secretariat as graduate. Since then I’ve worked for charities, as a public servant, and in the private sector.

As the years have gone on it has become clear to me that our relationship with nature, and with each other, has become more and more unbalanced. I started this website to share my view on ways we can start to redress that balance and take actions that will benefit both us and the natural environment.

My son was born in 2021 and will be 78 when the year 2100 rolls around. I believe it is the responsibility of my generation to ensure that the world he inherits is one that is in better shape than the one we live in today.
